Evidence, not hype
IncomeGenius evaluates privacy and security products — VPNs, password managers, data-removal services — on published evidence: independent security audits, certifications, transparency reports, public privacy policies, and documented pricing and renewal terms. Every claim carries a linked source, and every page states what we did not do.
The site exists because this category is full of review pages that rank products their authors never tested, with score boxes no one can trace. The honest alternative isn't perfect testing — it's telling you exactly what basis a recommendation stands on. Here, that basis is the public record: who audited the product, what the certifications cover, what the incident history says, and what the renewal price actually is. If a claim can't be sourced, it doesn't ship.
Who operates this site
IncomeGenius is operated by Settle Oak Media, an independent publishing company. Editorial contact: contact@settleoak.com. Until a named accountable editor exists, content is published under organizational authorship — we don't invent author personas or fake expert bios, which is also why you won't find stock-photo “security experts” on this page.
Editorial standards
- Every factual claim about security, jurisdiction, or pricing carries a linked source on the same page.
- Products are evaluated on published audits — not tested in a lab. We never write “we tested” or “in our testing.” The full methodology spells this out.
- Affiliate relationships are disclosed above the link, not in a footer, and never change what an evaluation says.
- Negatives ship with the positives: incidents, renewal-price jumps, and paywalled features are part of every review.
- Entries we haven't finished evaluating are labeled pending — never given a rating to fill space.
How we make money
Affiliate commissions, disclosed on every page that has them, and advertising. Commissions never determine evaluations or placements — the privacy policy and methodology cover the details.
